Every few years, a female sea turtle embarks on an extraordinary journey. Guided by ancient instincts, she swims thousands of kilometres across open oceans, braving predators, pollution and fishing nets.
She returns not just to any beach, but to the very stretch of sand where she was born, to lay eggs of her own and continue the cycle of life.
One such turtle is Melur, a green turtle who has made this incredible journey many times. First tagged in 1999, Melur has been returning to the same beach in Terengganu for over two decades. Her return is a powerful reminder of nature’s resilience and how much it relies on us.
But today, that cycle is under threat. Coastal development, plastic waste and climate change are putting her journey at risk.
Your kindness can make a real difference. Support our cause and help keep Melur’s legacy alive, along with countless others like her.
